There’s little to be gained by replacing one stooge of capital and the state with another. One who is inherently dishonest with his claims for the NHS.

The question for us in @SocialistHealth is not whether Starmer goes, but who comes next. Wes Streeting’s resignation letter made some bold claims about his tenure as SoS Health. We looked at the impacts of his policies, actions and inactions here:

"My speech symbolises the fact that not all students - and not all young women - are willing to going along with this absolute LIE that men and women are, somehow, interchangeable categories."

Alongside daily horrors is the deliberate attempt to gaslight & silence the Palestinian people- which is rooted in a racism that says Palestinians/Arabs are less human than others. It has become so normalised it even poisons the highest levels of govt

Plans to transfer hundreds of NHS 'bank' staff from Bath, Salisbury, and Swindon to private firm Pulse this August are being called "unacceptable".
Is this the "stealth privatisation" people fear?

"No, I don't subscribe to this 'kindness' - I'll tell the truth instead."
I spoke at the Cambridge Union last night about LGBs, children's safety and women's rights. Full video here:

No, just spend the money you need on housing and you will benefit the economy in the process. If you want to use pension funds in this way, start writing the legislation to achieve it, but be aware it’s not necessary.
Becky I'm curious. Do you always celebrate war crimes, torture, rape, genocide and the ethnic cleansing and mass slaughter of your fellow human beings in this sort of language? Or are you just monstrous when it comes to the Palestinians?

SHA affiliated to Labour in 1931 to help create the NHS. Our fringe events, outside conference security, are tonight and tomorrow. Let’s challenge the Thatcherite monetary orthodoxy which says we can’t fund public services or end child poverty.
@buzhna@bankofengland@Keir_Starmer@RachelReevesMP It’s odd that politicians appear to “believe” that taxation funds public spending, & that this isn’t challenged in the media. It seems they think (a) the general population is incapable of understanding public money creation & (b) it serves their agenda to promote this narrative.
@heinz_kiosk@premnsikka So I am not necessarily advocating “more” spending but want an NHS designed to deliver health and service based on agreed need and on models of care that work for the population and not for profit.
@heinz_kiosk@premnsikka Bear in mind that the costs of the internal market- including the endless handoffs across commercial interfaces- is variously estimated between 5 and 14%. Not to mention the costs of so-called “choice”.
