Each piece of Vibby Alpha painted by hand. It is definitely an arduous process, and one we might not be able to replicate for each of our series, but for the Alpha version of Vibby, we definitely wanted to experience the process we had always held a lot of love and awe for.
The VOU team has always been huge fans of traditional toymaking techniques, ever since we looked in awe at process photos in old magazines and later on in videos. So we knew when we set off to make our own line of sofubi toys, we'll have to experience the process for ourselves!
Thailand Toy Expo 2023 🙏🏻✨
Vibby is embarking in her first journey to a faraway land : to the land of smiles, Thailand! The VOU team will be in Thailand Toy Expo 2023 at Central World Mall Bangkok from 6-9 April 2023.

While seemingly a simple process at first glance, it takes years upon years of experience for a craftsman to be able to pull out the finished sofubi toy smoothly from its metal mold. And one by one, the building blocks of our Vibby are pulled out safely, ready to assemble!
Each of these steps are done by hand, banking on the craftsmen’s well-honed skill and experience to get the right coating and feel, making each finished product a product of love, patience, and a long legacy of craftmanship.

Just like Vibby in the story, the process of making VOU also involved a journey of our own! In fact, it took us all the way to Japan, to one of the factories still carrying on the long legacy of handcrafted sofubi toys.
