Steven Guilbeault is leaving federal politics, and not a moment too soon.
He may go down as one of the ministers who most aggressively weaponized science, funding questionable research groups like the Canadian Climate Institute and other pet projects to reinforce a single “climate crisis” narrative.
Anyone claiming Guilbeault truly believed in science is fooling themselves. He treated science like a buffet — picking only what supported his agenda. That’s not science.
He even misquoted me in the House of Commons, attributing claims to me that I have never said or published. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how evidence and dissent were handled under his watch.
Good riddance.
@CTVNews Hungary is a Parliamentary Representative Democratic Republic, and a full Member State of the E.U. I wonder how Hungary would feel about being portrayed this way?
@brianlilley Marit Stiles seems to think her job is shrieking about Doug Ford, not unlike Angrya Horwath before her. Surely there is a small to medium City somewhere that needs a Mayor?
@rmohamed_yow The "Ford freefall" is comical because there is no relevant opposition, apart from a shrieking Marit Stiles, and a (seemingly) anonymous "interim leader" of the Liberal Party.
@TheRealKeean The deportation of Jaskirat Singh Sidhu was court-ordered (more precisely, ordered by an immigration tribunal). So the Judge or Judges that are stalling this, are over-riding the Order.
@avilewis With all due respect sir, we can't rely on renewable technologies that haven't been invented yet. The current solar and wind technologies are unreliable and lack meaningful energy storage capacity. Nuclear and SMRs (in particular) are the bridge to the future.
