Virtual Desktop is launching on Oculus Quest today! Here's an in depth trailer going over all the features and options: https://t.co/dtUPHZVQw7

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@reverendkjr Customer support response:

“You’re not supposed to shake them like that. RMA request denied.”

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

Oh and now ALL sounds are spatialized in v2.9, even when you don’t request it. They didnt even bother to run 1 app or game before pushing this thing out..

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

Annnd Meta broke 144hz in the v2.9 PTC. Stay off the PTC if you want to keep using it

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

Just added 144 fps support with Quest 3 in Virtual Desktop on our Beta channel. Go try it out and let us know what you think!

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@RedOxiOxi I’ve let them know what is needed.

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@IHateZuckSoMuch Not quite usable for PCVR at high resolutions. It requires a LOT of bandwidth (multiple Gigabits)

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@Thrilluwu That’s a lot. I’m launching it almost every day since 2014 and am only at 9772

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@Ani19829 @lostinartmagic @TheEthanExpress @Minibattle_Lop once we receive a headset, we’ll know more whether or not we can bring the app to it

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@lostinartmagic @TheEthanExpress @Minibattle_Lop Meant to say Lepton layer, not FEX

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@lostinartmagic @TheEthanExpress @Minibattle_Lop No one is making “a Linux version” of their apps & games for Steam Frame. It runs Android apps through the FEX layer. That’s how everyone is bringing their apps/games to the Frame. We’ll do the same once we receive a headset.

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@metro_xr Yes, disable

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

Big update today! The BRINK Traveler folks brought over a very cool environment from their app: Iceland Riverbed! We also have lots of performance improvements and bug fixes. Enjoy!

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@AntonHand

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@AntonHand We see kids with integrated graphics complaining that they get a terrible experience. The “VR Ready PC” label allows us to tell them they don’t meet the minimum requirements (GTX 970). Integrated graphics still not matching that performance a decade later is a disappointment

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@ChowYunMatt @RobSprance I’m in the reservation queue now 👍🏻

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@macinvr @RobSprance @BeardoBenjoYT @germanrifter @ParadiseDecay @valvesoftware They haven’t.

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@RobSprance @BeardoBenjoYT @germanrifter @macinvr @ParadiseDecay @valvesoftware I’m on the list like everyone. Hopefully I don’t have to eBay one.

[StormyCsVR @StormyCsVR]

Really enjoyed seeing this one come together. @BrinkXR Traveler’s Iceland Riverbed is a great fit for @VRDesktop, and there’s more going on behind the scenes than you might expect. Hope we see more collaborations like this.

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@notbigmon no, the SoC can’t handle doing extrapolation beyond 120fps, it can barely do it at 144 as it is

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

Just added 144 fps support with Quest 3 in Virtual Desktop on our Beta channel. Go try it out and let us know what you think!

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@JoacoManguevar @isaiahheitzman Video decoders can’t handle much higher than 144 and the whole OS has serious trouble beyond that as well

[Guy Godin @VRDesktop]

@IHateZuckSoMuch Video decoders have trouble beyond 144fps so not likely for the Quest 3 at least
