On Thanksgiving Day, a team of 25 volunteers assisted our Hospitality Staff in preparing and serving 178 hot, made from scratch, Thanksgiving meals to our community! 🍲 This team of volunteers served pies and distributed 60 personal hygiene care bags! https://t.co/Q9220ZnmDZ
Our Life Change Recovery residents had the privilege of hearing from Edward, a graduate of the Life Change Recovery program. He shared about HOPE while overcoming addiction, life after addiction, and being in the recovery program.

Recently, @visaliabreakfast donated 120 bikes that needed to be put together for @visaliaemergencyaidcouncil to hand out to kids in our community. 🚲 Here at VRM, we believe in “Local Supporting Local” in every way that we can!
Visalia Rescue Mission was invited to share at Grace Community Church for their Mission Fest. We were grateful to share the heart behind the work being done here in our community. Our CEO Michael Simmon was able to give a glimpse into the ongoing services and programs!
The Mission was blessed with a donation of over 3,500 brand new shoes by “All Topics” located in downtown Visalia! 👏🏼 These shoes will be used for the men and women in our Life Change Recovery Program, our guests and residents, and in our stores which help fund the programs.
Another month in the books for blessings on top of blessings.🙌🏼 Our community is the reason we can provide a clean shower, counseling, a hot meal, or shelter all while pointing our hurting neighbors to Jesus! 🫶🏼
Thank you to @immanuelschools for having us out to speak to your students about the work being done for those in our community through Visalia Rescue Mission! Immanuel’s students had been working hard to collect donations specifically for the children in the Serenity Center. 👏🏼
Over Labor Day weekend, the Mission was asked to pick up donations from the Hume Lake Country Fair. After a beautiful drive up the mountain to Hume, we packed the box truck full, and then drove down to the Valley with grateful hearts. Community extends wide and we are thankful!
Thank you @visaliafirst for a great Serve Day this past weekend! We had many volunteers who came out to several different areas of the Mission and served as part of @v1reach Serve Day! It was such a blessing to our staff and residents to see so many new faces on campus .👏🏼
We would like to thank several employees of Sherwin-Williams in Visalia who graciously gave of their time and own money to put together hygiene bags for the Serenity Center. There were several women, children, and guests who were greatly blessed by these!
The Mission was blessed to receive a grant from Visalia Rotary Community Foundation for $15,000 to help us with an expansion for our Community Kitchen. This expansion will assist us as we continue to reach the hungry and hurting by providing a warm and nutritious meal.
We would like to thank the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sequoias for their generous donations of hygiene supplies and hand drawn encouragement notes for our Serenity Center guests! Our women and children were so blessed by these signs and the supplies.

Thanks to Grocery Outlet’s “Independence from Hunger” campaign during the month of July! We were able to raise $14,647 👏🏼 which went to provide food for Visalia Rescue Mission and our friends at Salt + Light. We are so thankful for the generosity of partners like Grocery Outlet
Visalia Rescue Mission would like to thank Carl Rinderle & Ace Hardware for donating a Weber Gas Grill to our Men’s Life Change Recovery Program! Our resident’s grill out on a regular basis and needed a new one to use. Ace Hardware heard about it and stepped in to fill the need!
