Sharia Law as Public Authority Collides With Biblical Justice and Christian Freedom

Sharia claims to be the comprehensive path revealed by allah through the Quran and the example of Muhammad. When pressed into public life it asserts divine right to regulate speech, conversion, family, criminal penalties, and the status of non-Muslims.

Quran 5:38 commands that the thief, male or female, have the hand cut off as a deterrent from allah. Classical application treats this as a fixed hudud (prescribed) punishment, not a flexible guideline open to modern revision.

Quran 5:33 prescribes execution, crucifixion, or the cutting of hands and feet from opposite sides for those who wage war against allah and his messenger or spread corruption in the land. This verse has historically justified severe corporal and capital penalties under Sharia courts.

Quran 9:29 orders Muslims to fight those who do not believe in allah or the Last Day until they pay the jizyah (poll tax) willingly and feel themselves subdued. The resulting dhimmi (protected but subordinate) status places Christians and Jews under permanent legal inferiority.

Quran 4:34 places men in charge of women and authorizes striking those from whom disobedience is feared. This text undergirds unequal family law, polygyny, and diminished inheritance and testimony rights for women in classical jurisprudence.

These rulings are not medieval relics. They remain the standard of the four major Sunni schools and Shiite tradition whenever Sharia gains coercive power. Reformist claims of a purely spiritual Sharia collapse the moment the system acquires state force.

Islamic eschatology reinforces the program. The expected Mahdi restores pure Sharia, and the returned Isa (Jesus in Muslim teaching) supports that restoration rather than the biblical Gospel. The end-time vision supplies motivation for patient demographic, electoral, and institutional advance.

Migration, higher fertility, mosque networks, parallel arbitration councils, and occasional violence form a multi-front strategy. Parallel legal systems begin with “voluntary” family mediation and expand until equal protection under a single civil law is eroded for women, converts, and religious minorities.

Biblical justice stands in direct opposition. Jehovah alone is Lawgiver. The state exists to punish evil and protect the good (Romans 13), not to enforce confessional allegiance. When rulers forbid the free proclamation of Christ, believers must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).

One-flesh marriage, equal dignity of male and female as image-bearers, and liberty of conscience are non-negotiable. Sharia’s public form systematically undermines each of them. Christians who treat this collision as a matter of private piety or cultural preference abandon their responsibility to preserve the conditions under which the Gospel can be preached without fear.

The concern is not theoretical. Where Sharia norms gain footholds, the space for open Christian witness and equal civil rights contracts. That reality demands clear-eyed resistance, not accommodation.

Today’s Supreme Court decision is a missed opportunity to restore the original meaning of the 14th Amendment.

Birthright citizenship has become a powerful magnet for illegal immigration that will forever change our nation if left unaddressed. Automatic citizenship for children born to parents in the United States illegally or only temporarily is an absurdity that was never contemplated by our Constitution nor agreed to by the American people. 

Congress must clarify that American citizenship means something and does not extend automatically to children whose parents are in this country unlawfully or temporarily. The American people and the sovereignty of our nation deserve nothing less.
