🚨 Holy shit... LeCun's team just cracked world models wide open.
Everyone's obsessing over the next Claude update.
Meanwhile Yann LeCun quietly dropped a paper that could matter way more long term.
It's called LeWorldModel.
And to understand why it's a big deal, you need to understand the difference between what LLM does and what this does.
LLMs predict the next word. That's it.
They're incredibly good at language. But they don't understand reality.
They can write about a ball bouncing off a wall. They can't predict where it lands.
World models predict what happens next in the physical world. Objects moving, colliding, falling.
That's the foundation for robots that plan, self-driving cars that simulate scenarios, any AI that needs to act in reality instead of just talk about it.
The problem? World models kept collapsing.
The model would cheat by mapping every input to the same output. Like a weather app that predicts "sunny" every single day.
Technically it's predicting. It's just useless. And fixing this required 6+ loss hyperparameters, frozen pre-trained encoders, stop-gradient hacks, exponential moving averages.
A house of cards just to keep the thing from breaking.
LeCun's team (Mila, NYU, Samsung SAIL, Brown) threw all of that out. LeWorldModel uses just 2 loss terms.
A prediction loss and a regularizer called SIGReg that forces representations to stay diverse instead of collapsing into garbage.
6 hyperparameters reduced to 1.
The simplicity IS the breakthrough.
The numbers: 15M parameters. Trains on a single GPU in a few hours. Plans up to 48x faster than foundation-model-based world models.
Uses roughly 200x fewer tokens than alternatives. Competitive across 2D and 3D control tasks.
This isn't a supercomputer experiment. You could run this on your own hardware.
LeCun has been pushing JEPA as the architecture for real AI since 2022.
The criticism was always the same: "sounds nice, doesn't train stably."
LeWorldModel just removed that objection. Small model. Stable training.
No hacks. No frozen encoders. No collapse.
Two AI futures are competing right now.
Path 1: bigger LLMs, more text, more compute.
Path 2: world models that learn physics from raw pixels and plan in real time.
LeWorldModel is the strongest signal yet that Path 2 is real, getting cheaper, and closing in fast.
ELON MUSK: SpaceX will build a mass driver on the moon.
"If you want to go beyond a mere terawatt per year, you have to go to the moon. So by having factories on the moon, building AI satellites and having a mass driver, which is the kind of thing you really need to learn about in read about in science fiction, but we're going to make it real. We're actually going to have a mass driver on the moon.
And if you do that, you can go several orders of magnitude greater. You can go to 1000 gigawatts or more per year, and ultimately get to maybe a millionth, and then a 1,000th and maybe even a few percent of the sun's energy.
I really want to see the mass driver on the moon that is shooting AI satellites into deep space just go like just one after the other. I can't imagine anything more epic than a mass driver on the moon and a self sustaining city on the moon, and then going beyond the moon to Mars, going throughout our solar system, and ultimately, being out there among the stars and visiting all these star systems, maybe we'll meet aliens. Maybe we'll meet see some civilizations that lasted for millions of years, and we'll find the remnants of ancient alien civilizations. But the only way we're going to do that, do that, do that is if we go out there and we explore, and this is the path to making it happen."

Después de 3 años usando Claude, puedo decir que es la tecnología que ha revolucionado mi vida
Aquí tienes 10 prompts que uso a diario y que han transformado mi día a día; podrían hacer lo mismo por ti:
(guarda esto)
I'm the VP of AI at Apple.
I've been here since 2011.
I watched Siri launch.
It was revolutionary.
For about six months.
Then Google Assistant came out.
Then Alexa.
Then ChatGPT.
We kept saying we were "focused on privacy."
Privacy is what you say when you're losing.
Three years ago the board asked about our AI strategy.
I showed them a slide that said "On-Device Intelligence."
They nodded.
They didn't know what it meant.
Neither did I.
But it had a picture of a neural network.
Neural networks look impressive.
Even when they don't work.
Last year someone asked Siri to set a timer.
It opened a Wikipedia article about timers.
Tim saw the meme.
He didn't laugh.
He scheduled a "strategic offsite."
Offsites are where we go to admit failure privately.
I presented three options.
Option 1: Build our own LLM.
That would take four years.
We don't have four years.
Option 2: Buy a startup.
We looked at twelve.
They all wanted $40 billion.
For teams of nine people.
Who would leave after the acquisition.
Option 3: Call Google.
The room went quiet.
Google is the enemy.
We've spent fifteen years pretending we're better than Google.
Our entire brand is "not Google."
But Google has TPUs.
We don't.
Google has Gemini.
We have Siri.
Siri still can't reliably add items to a grocery list.
I called Sundar.
He picked up on the first ring.
He'd been waiting.
They all wait.
Eventually everyone calls Google.
I asked for TPU access.
He said yes.
I asked for Gemini integration.
He said yes.
I asked how much.
He said one billion dollars.
I said that's a lot.
He said "per year."
I paused.
He said "you don't really have a choice."
He was smiling.
I could hear it.
We announced it as a "strategic partnership."
Partnership means we're paying them.
The press release said we're "enhancing Siri's capabilities."
Enhancing means replacing.
We said the new Siri arrives "late 2026."
Late 2026 means 2027.
Maybe 2028.
Definitely not 2026.
A reporter asked if this means Apple lost the AI race.
Our comms team said we're "thoughtfully deliberate."
That's not an answer.
But it has enough syllables to sound like one.
Internally, we're calling it "Project Humble Pie."
Someone suggested "Project Brain Transplant."
HR flagged that as "not brand-aligned."
The engineers are relieved.
They've been trying to make Siri work for years.
Now they can blame Google.
Blame is a renewable resource.
Tim did a podcast.
He said AI is "a profound technology."
He's never used ChatGPT.
I showed him once.
He asked why it was typing so slowly.
I said that's how it works.
He said "Siri should be faster."
I said "Siri will be Google."
He said "don't say that publicly."
I won't.
Publicly, we're "leveraging industry partnerships."
Leveraging means surrendering.
But with dignity.
We still have the best hardware.
We still have the ecosystem.
We still have the brand.
We just don't have AI.
So we're renting it.
From the company we've mocked for two decades.
The one billion dollars is a licensing fee.
The real cost is the narrative.
We were the innovators.
Now we're the integrators.
But the stock is up 3%.
Wall Street doesn't care about innovation.
Wall Street cares about not falling behind.
We're not falling behind anymore.
We're being carried.
By Google.
For one billion dollars a year.
I'll present this as a win at the next all-hands.
Wins are whatever you frame them as.
The graph will go up and to the right.
It always does.
As long as you pick the right metric.
