Globe & Mail reporter Chris Gay told Canadian readers ‘how to properly hate’ @elonmusk for becoming a trillionaire via SpaceX.
Here’s an idea:
- Maybe Mr Gay could explain to readers why Canadas fed govt lost $50bn betting against Tesla on EVs - and is in the process of losing billions more backing no-launch capacity Telesat to compete with StarLink - SpaceX.
Our federal govt is lighting on fire billions we don’t have betting against a guy changing the lives of millions with reusable rockets, global internet, EVs, nueralink, boring company etc.
Capitalism creates wealth as markets embrace life-improving goods and services. Which is why our teachers will get an $11bn windfall via their pension betting with Musk.
Socialism destroys it through the politics of envy and statist central planning and loss-making ‘investments’ which is why this federal govt is so awful at capital allocation.
@globeandmail - pls tell the whole story.
Actually the headline perfectly represents the Globe and Mail’s smug, stupid editorial “standards”
You can change the headline but article is still a steaming pile of juvenile, petty envy and resentment. Talk about toxic Canadian nationalism.
Anyways, the Globe’s paymasters in Ottawa must be pleased. Better to focus of the boogeyman of Elon Musk than to shine the light on the corrupt and incompetent Liberal government.
@globeandmail What a smug, pathetic, juvenile piece of writing. This is the kind of dumb crap I’d expect to read in some community college student newspaper.
@liberal_party A decade of feckless, incompetent and corrupt Liberal government wrecked Canada’s economy.
Press releases, MOU’s and staged photo ops accomplish nothing.
@CityNewsTO Technical? How about a plain old recession, full stop.
The result of a decade plus of incompetent and corrupt Liberal government.
And if you think Mark Carney is any different, then you are a typical gullible, foolish Liberal voter.
Elbows up!
