He’s building the Socratica node at McMaster, and a proptech startup.

Dennis just locked in a 1-year office lease @VSpaceTO for his team to grind poker and build a media empire 💪

Just finished filming a 1-hr podcast with him on:
- the future of the poker industry (tech, business models, etc.)
- why poker needs an ELO system
- how he grew to 35K followers on IG in 60 days
- poker as a medium for self improvement, relationships, and entrepreneurship

Some members of his team make 6-figures grinding low stakes poker online and we’ll be brining some of them in as guest coaches at @vclubpoker for future Mastery Monday sessions.

How equity for rent would work:

- say market rent is 2K
- Sign a 1-year lease where that rent agreement is worth 2 * 12 = 24K and treat it as if we invest 24K into your startup
- Do it on a SAFE at the same valuation as most recent funding

And voila! Extend your runway by not having to pay any cash for rent for 1+ years.

I had no idea what I was getting into when launching a coworking space this year, but it has genuinely been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

We’ve hosted coworking days, movie nights, poker games, holiday parties, and even a hacker hotel.

This project has been about creating a space that inspires and gives back to the community. A place of social interest, where ideas flourish, and people are supported in their personal and professional goals.

Our latest updates to the space:
- painted the walls vibrant blue
- added a greenery wall
- basketball hoop for those quick brain breaks!

This is the last week to lock in our founding member rate (with 6-month commitment):
- Hot Desk: $100/month
- Dedicated Desk: $200/month (incl. private storage)

Starting Jan 6, 2025, prices will increase to $200/month and $400/month respectively.
