Deeply devastated by the tragic news from the Gulf of Oman. Three innocent Indian civilian seafarers — Patnala Suresh, Shivanand Chaurasiya, and Aditya Sharma — have lost their lives following a targeted US precision military strike on the commercial oil tanker, M/T Settebello.
These men were not combatants. They were civilian mariners doing their jobs, caught in the crossfire of a geopolitical standoff.
I strongly support the Government of India's swift and firm response in calling out this unacceptable overreach. By summoning the US Chargé d'Affaires to lodge a strong protest and forcefully raising the matter at the United Nations, New Delhi has made it clear that Indian lives are not acceptable “collateral damage”.
While the US enforces its maritime blockade, it must cease and desist from targeting commercial civilian infrastructure and crews. A military strike on an engine room, knowing civilians are on board, is unjustifiable.
Global maritime forces have plenty of non-lethal methods to intercept, redirect, or board non-compliant vessels. Resorting to missile strikes that kill civilian crews must stop immediately. Freedom of navigation must apply to the safety of the sailors who power global trade. I hope india firmly demands this of its US interlocutors since practically every ship in those waters carries Indian crew.
Our deepest prayers are with the bereaved families. We stand with you. 🕉️ शांति!
@Main_Khamakha I ain’t disagreeing with anything here
The thing you raised was about India’s response to usa, to which I did argue and reply
This govt isn’t perfect at all, we all know it
Had it not been this dumb opposition, it wouldn’t have stayed this long in power
@Main_Khamakha Lmao yeah sure fine
I am neutral
I have been questioning
You can dig up my tweets during sindoor if you want, or even when that Faridabad intern thing was going on
I was criticising them very hard at that time
Thode dumb rw were cursing me at that time lol..
@Main_Khamakha Look at this..
And this part isn’t even in power, still hadn’t named usa
And I don’t blame them, cuz usa is an important partner for India, you can’t ruin relations based on speed breakers like these
https://t.co/PQcHiFnBY3
@Main_Khamakha Lmao India has publicly named usa before, it did today as well in the mea presser
The readout is a different thing, where diplomacy prevails
@goldenhues018 There’s a difference between India and china
Be realistic duh
But yeah china wouldn’t have done much as well
Also, USA wouldn’t be scared hitting china too, cuz they aren’t hitting Indian or let’s say Chinese ships
It was just the crew that happened to be Indians here..
@DesiEsco7 Replace US with Trump
Goi has lost faith I believe, with the way that madman does things
Midterms are anyways close..
Goi will be hoping for a change
@Main_Khamakha I ain’t a chammach
I look at the issue properly before commenting
I criticised the mea a lot during sindoor
But regarding usa and trump, GOI is doing 98% of the things correctly
I can explain everything properly, that’s if I get an audience that’s ready to listen
@Main_Khamakha Well what did you want India to do here lol?
Bomb usa??
That’s not how it works
We did summon their representative, the only thing we could have done differently is being sterner in the press release
What else would you do?
Especially at a sensitive time like this
@Main_Khamakha Nobody knows what’s going on
Geopolitics isn’t as easy as you think it is
MEA did make a blunder last year during op sindoor
Just hoping it doesn’t repeat again
@Main_Khamakha Also I ain’t defending him
I am defending the govt, and the country
Even if congress comes to power in 2029 and does things right, I will support them the same way too
There’s already lots of fake news and bullshit against India on the Internet
