Thanks for our VTA delegates - Jeff Pistritto, Lisa Bennett, and Joe Carey - who joined Mike to represent our membership in Albany for the RA. The weekend was a great reminder that democracy depends on the active and vibrant engagement of good people. @nysut
What a great weekend! It’s always inspiring to be surrounded by people who care so deeply about our public school system and the union that defends it. Thank you NYSUT leadership for putting together an outstanding event. #nysutra@nysut@MelindaJPerson

New York’s aging buildings weren’t built for today’s learning needs or tomorrow’s climate realities. A Carbon Free & Healthy Schools Bond Act would modernize classrooms and campuses, improve student health, support clean-energy goals, and create thousands of good union jobs across the state.
If we’re serious about student health, academic success and meeting New York’s clean-energy goals, we need a statewide investment in healthy schools that matches the scope of the challenge. @NYSAFLCIO@TimesUnion

Friday celebration: The VTA/VCSD raised $2140.08 (and 75 non-perishables) to donate to the Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard via our annual turkey raffle. Special thanks to Chelsea Shaw and our reps for their efforts coordinating! @nysut@VictorSchools
Don’t forget to pack your cash for school tomorrow! Our turkey raffle has just a few days left - and then your chance to win great prizes is gone UNTIL NEXT YEAR! More importantly, the Victor Food Cupboard could really use our support. See a VTA building rep for details. @nysut
Beth Weeden and Mike Modleski spent the weekend at the NYS Teacher Retirement System Conference. The system strong as ever thanks to the work of the NYSTRS staff, oversight of the NYSTRS board, and the advocacy of our union. Thank you Beth for giving up her weekend to join Mike!
The VTA executive board welcomed our newest members to the organization this past week. We had a great morning celebrating the benefits of union membership and enjoying a delicious lunch provided by the @VictorSchools cafeteria staff. Next up? DAY 1!! @nysut
A great first day at the RA celebrating the strength of our union. To highlight one of this year’s themes - the importance of play - delegates ended the night with a reception at the Strong Museum of Play. @nysut#nysutra
The 2025 NYSUT RA is underway! This year was a little extra special thanks to the Victor Varsity Choir who kicked off the party with a great performance followed by the National Anthem. Special thanks to music teacher Kristin Mellema for making it happen! #nysutra@VictorSchools
The #nysutra local presidents conference kicks off with a panel on the impact of cell phones and social media on our kids. New York will take the lead on this issue next year with bell to bell ban on cell phones in school.
