World Gymnastics has expressed regret over the Netherlands’ refusal to issue visas to three leading Russian gymnasts ahead of the World Championships in Rotterdam, Vedomosti reports.

The international federation said it couldn't explain the Dutch authorities’ decision but was continuing discussions with the Netherlands and the Russian Gymnastics Federation.

Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova, along with European silver medallist Anna Kalmykova, have been denied entry to the tournament.
