@bbc5live@QasaAlom@BBCSounds One narrative is you can't see your GP. There are 5000 fewer GPs and they are delivering more appts than ever. General Practice is on the brink and everyone is working extremely hard but the idea that GP with is current issues is the solution is crazy.
@IainDale GPs are open. We are using triage to increase efficiency , seeing far more people than prepandemic. We are not contracted to provide emergency care yet every day I have full surgeries + 10-20 urgents. 50-60 patient/GP every day. GP is as swamped as A&E. Stop this lazy narrative
@IainDale It has been said for the last 20years we are one bad flu season away from collapse of the NHS. We have been lucky most years, now we have a global pandemic. This is it.
I assume part of this drive to get us back to f2f is because the various online GP services which were comissioned by Govt are losing its directors money
So the initial review into Covid states it was the worst Public Health response ever, unnecessary deaths, test and trace was chaotic slow and uncertain and littered with big mistakes
at a time in winter 2020 when routine workload had skyrocketed and many GPs, nurses and support staff (reception. PMs etc ) were already feeling pretty broken
THE BEST IN THE WORLD
Organised by GPs , not the Govt, not Dido Harding, not Capita.
@Lifemodelnick@TheBMA@mrjamesob but I'm struggling a bit with your sentence. "No way it doesn't stand much chance of being accurate" implies it's 100% accurate
@Lifemodelnick@TheBMA@mrjamesob having done this job for nearly 30years we were always taught 90% of the diagnosis is in the history. That is as true today as it was when I was at medical school. Even when we did 100% f2f I could go days without examining a patient. Now if I need extra info I bring you in
