At a meeting of the L.A. County Probation Commission. According to a new report from the Auditor Controller, the cost of L.A.'s juvenile halls is now $404,000 a year per youth. For a year in a juvenile detention camp, the cost is $527,000.

ICYMI we are still detaining kids during COVID. And exposing them to COVID. I represent young people who are detained, and many of them have been quarantined *several* times during the pandemic. When quarantined, they don't even receive remote instruction or family visits.
