PULTE - TEMPORARY. Confirmed, per source familiar, the White House has communicated to Congress that Bill Pulte will not be nominated as a permanent DNI.

Not clear this will assuage Democrats' problems with him even serving in the acting role. But the few Republicans I spoke with since this happened say that this news helps - as they head toward FISA debate.

TILLIS says definitively that he won’t vote for final passage of the immigration enforcement bill if it doesn’t restrict the weaponization fund.

“I won't be binary, but it's got to restrict it.”

He’s been signaling this all week, telling reporters it’ll be hard for him to vote for the bill without some restrictions.

Cassidy lost his reelection bid last month.
