@number1cochran and @Hyundai pocketed the $7500 tax credit on my EV lease instead of passing the savings on to me. Now I'm stuck drastically overpaying for the car with no options for remedy.

Bottom line: any EV is and has been eligible for the $7500 tax credit as long as it is leased. That credit is meant to be passed to the consumer through a reduction in lease payments. @Hyundai and @number1cochran swindled me and pocketed the tax credit.

The @nytimes outlines this as well: "That’s because the law allows leased vehicles to qualify as commercial vehicles, which the Inflation Reduction Act exempts from the restrictions that apply to cars bought by individuals."
