@_balloonatic_@NEETzscheIDDQD actual fascism would be killing ai artist because they viewed social parasites as subhumans and actually supported artists and writers that agreed with their ideologyπ
why would a dictator that want to potray his race as superior use generated ai esp when said dictator does art
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo as for me, im learning illustration cause design work's dried up.
hopefully id get good enough and accepted into an indie animation/game studio
it is what it is, one must hope for the best and prepare for the wrost
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo it is what it is
im just telling you why seemingly small artists and devs are rabid against ai
you would think ai would be most helpful for them but ironically its like big corpos wanting more regulation so they can choke out the competition who can't afford them
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo and so the speed at which copycats were made was negligible and manageable (plus most artists like encouraging people to do art even if they get copied).
so really for artists, devs of open source/indie projects the negatives of ai outweigh the positives.
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo hence why both open source and indie devs hate ai along with artists
we may make a thing for free even! an ai bro will rip it off and sell it as their own. we dont have money to sue them.
back then artstyles couldnt be copyrighted because every human was unique and brought
@sakai_web ah fair, i thougt it was the hypothesis of "ai would lead to more work"
but yea i dont mind client providing me ai generated reference if they agree to my changes or they dont reduce the price by a lot or train it on my/others art without consent or use my work for training ai
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo because then it'd be like hiring a artists
i.e. theres no economic incentive
so ai bros are stuck in a rock and hard place where the guys looking for ai dont want good art just cheap and the ones looking for good art dont want ai
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo digital art was accepted by artists as a tradeoff because it didnt replace us but ai does
also dont expect good stuff from ai because the ppl who wanna use ai want it precisely cause it's cheap and fast.
so a good ai prompter who has taste, takes time etc would not be hired
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo its why in asian industries where there's more rule of senior, the industry seems less ai phobic then west
the younger guys cant have a say or inform the seniors about what stuff people actually like
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo the stuff
yknow the whole corpo minimalism trend? its not what we wanna make but higherups and clients just want that because it looks professional/trendy
so already, our dept has downsized to half of guys, and we are forced to work as assitant to ai instead of ai assisting us
@sakai_web the output looks ass but the client doesnt mind because its cheap and fast
or the headache when the client gives us doo doo looking stuff but insists on doing it because "chatgpt said so"
not to mention they use excuses like "people wont notice/care" when ai makes mistake
@sakai_web plus i have worked for B2B as graphic designer, (exactly why i use burner accounts or id get fired for my social media stuffs)
you think we didn't learn comfyui and shii? instead, clients pay even less and less work is given because they just get an aibro to do everything
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo because being an artists pays shit, unless you're making like those banana on wall, or those "nonbinary gender acceptance" bla bla
in fact those people's art value would increase post ai because "handcrafted" while ours would decline cause we dont have the connection or grift
@Itazura_Dev@nemui_nekoooo would scrape our design and use it without paying us
it's why most creatives are okay with piracy (doesnt affect our bottomline + free publicity!) but against ai
