As we mark the anniversary of the founding of Canada, we reflect on our country’s past, the lives that were tragically lost and the resulting intergenerational trauma.
Today, we commit to the role we all play in reconciling and working together towards a brighter future.
The devastating truths about Canada’s history & present are not new truths, yet it is painful to confront every time. At the very least, I hope Canadians are reflecting on Canada day & why celebrating it, is celebrating genocide. Indigenous communities are not an after-thought.
