hotels are betting on your ignorance to overcharge you by 200%

you just paid $180 for a hotel room

someone else paid $60 for the same room on the same night

but heres what really breaks your brain:

the guy in the penthouse suite paid $95

you paid $180 for a standard room

he paid $95 for the one with the balcony and the view

same hotel
same night

he just knew which buttons to press

let me explain the scam:

hotels have a dirty secret

theyd rather sell the penthouse for $95 than let it sit empty at $400

but they cant publicly drop prices that low

would piss off people who already booked
would train everyone to wait for discounts

so they hide the cheap rates

in places most people never look

the hotel price destruction method:

EXPLOIT 1: hotwire hot rate

shows you star rating neighbourhood and amenities
hides the hotel name until you book
same marriott youre looking at for $180
available for $70 because they dont want you to know its them
suites show up here too for less than standard room prices

EXPLOIT 2: last minute apps

4-6 hours before check in prices collapse
hotels panic about empty rooms
hoteltonight and last minute apps get the desperate inventory
ive booked $400 suites for $89 same day

EXPLOIT 3: the direct call script

call the hotel directly and say this:

"hi im looking at booking tonight but the online price seems high. whats the best rate you can offer if i book directly with you right now"

they quote you something

then say:

"is there any flexibility on that? im choosing between a few hotels"

they drop 15-30%

then say:

"do you have any suites available at a similar rate? id rather pay a little more for an upgrade than take a standard room"

front desk can approve upgrades for $20-40 extra just to fill premium inventory

ive talked my way into $400 suites for $115 with this script

booking sites cant do this
only humans can

the penthouse is the same price as your standard room

if you know where to look

stop paying full price for the worst room

start paying discount prices for the best one

go find the button they hid

Perpetual licence cost over 8 years (and more to come) £10k

Subscription cost for same 8 years x £2.1k = £16.8k
