We’re finally done with Sanchr. 🔐

After months of engineering and a ridiculous amount of time spent thinking about cryptography, we’ve built Sanchr as a privacy-first communication system with end-to-end encryption across messages, media, and contacts.

But we didn’t want privacy to stop at encryption.

Sanchr also includes:

Open source is a core part of our engineering culture.

Today we're open-sourcing Mantel Crypto, the cryptographic core behind Mantel.

Rather than asking people to trust that photos are encrypted on-device before upload, we're making the implementation public so anyone can inspect, review, and verify how it works.

Mantel is coming soon. This is the first of many steps toward building privacy-first software in the open.
