@RipResoluteMind@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri you can represent two identities at once. it’s very common 😭 the only thing it removes is a monoracial identity. but i understand how it can cause problems if u plan to launch a series with an established character that you continue to make random sporadic changes to.
@fujomonkey@channington0@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri i knew ari had other black chars but i didn’t think they were specifically afrolatino?? but i understand what you mean. in the same breath though they could also develop other indigenous chars down the line as well. the discussion did randomly appear but it’s kinda up in the air
@fujomonkey@femcelrat@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri yeah i agree, and they could but personally before i knew kate’s race i thought that he was black. kate’s features could be interpreted as either or which is why i feel like if nothing changed it wouldn’t be a bad thing. plenty of other ppl assumed kate was black as well
@fujomonkey@channington0@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri i feel as tho adding to his ethnicity— which anyone in his lineage could be african btw instead of them being half black, doesn’t take away from her race whatsoever. kate could still openly identify as just indigenous- hence them being two different things; race and ethnicity.
@fujomonkey@channington0@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri i agree but neither do u see a lot of afrolatino rep in media either. let alone indie media & the same goes for black people as well unless its some type of stereotype or stereotypical looking char. to combine the two underrepresented together i feel shouldn’t cause chaos
@channington0@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri abt the added representation but i was surprised to see other ppl weren’t 😭 to me kate’s features made a lot of sense as “afrolatina” but i guess it’s subjective. also i don’t mean to come off as hostile so hopefully it doesn’t seem that way
@channington0@leedamipy2@TheBrujoAri which to me seems like it’s been a thought about discussion instead of like boom— random pointless change. i took the post as its smth that they’re discussing with themselves vs trying to see what the audience might want instead yk? i’m black so i personally was happy to hear-
