@HoopSector Pick #14 has maybe a 25% chance of developing into an above average player, even in an especially deep draft. Sabonis is an All-Star caliber player at a position of need. Pull the trigger.
@tapeunderscored @normal_jake_ My comment wasn't intended to exonerate D&D. Obviously they were mistaken in cutting out so much content from Feast and Dance. The point is that once they exhausted what source material they did elect to include, the show's stopped having scenes like the above.
@NoirScreenlight@normal_jake_ I agree that D&D sometimes diverged from the source material in a way that was detrimental to the product. My point is that scenes like the above, which aren't essential to the plot, work because the underlying foundation is solid. The choice not to include Jeyne is fundamental.
Pretty funny for the guy who shamelessly attempted to position himself as Rogan's liberal foil to make this assertion. Also ironic that his efforts failed bc his glibness is revolting both to educated cosmopolitan libs (who see through his act) and normal, working class people.
Orange Man embodies the liberal paradox (believes in the omnipotence of the state but also feels cucked by its authority) which is why every time he harnesses its power in pursuit of some absurd end, he inevitably self-sabotages
@GergeKeller @rieszspieces Most people have fairly uniform subtest scores, so it makes sense to distill their indices into a single data point for simplicity’s sake, but for anybody w a cognitive deficit or very pronounced strength in one area, the composite should be regarded skeptically.
@SevaUT Imo the issue w Nolan films and faux cerebral shows like White Lotus isn’t simply that they lack subtext, but rather that they lack subtext while purporting to possess it.
One of the funnier theories I forget where I heard was: CEOs are either super-fit or fat, never just kinda pudgy. This is because CEOs are relentless optimizers, and they either love fitness or love good food and commit to the preference
Patrick Bet-David flexes his geopolitical muscles, noting that no “major conflicts” occurred in the middle east while the Shah was in power, clearly suggesting that to secure a lasting peace, the Pahlavi dynasty must be restored. #BringBacktheShah
