Things I want to text someone but won’t because I’m practicing ✨restraint✨:
You’re not a “lover boy”, you’re just desperate for love and threw a fit because someone has standards and didn’t want to settle.
About to send this man an invoice for the airbnb I just had to purchase because he broke her heart (he didn’t do anything wrong. It was a shitty situation. But still…)
Last thing&then I’ll probably go take a nap because, at the end of the day, I’m just a girl who loves a nap.
It is not one individual’s responsibility to protect&advocate for a community. It’s all of ours. So if you’re a part of it, you share a piece of that responsibility.
@illyrianmalfoy Not invalidating her talent and I did use the word essentially. And I do believe that readers and author’s communities are integral. Reading the article you find out that they did not query and were actually reached out to which, in my opinion, is a result of her readers/fanbase
All I’m saying is, that article could’ve been great. It could’ve helped inform mainstream media of the legality of fanfiction but instead, it didn’t. Why are we celebrating a fanfiction being on GoodReads? Why are we saying it “can toe a line if it’s for profit”
Also, stop selling my shit. “Bigger” authors and “bigger” stories are being taken down, yes, but that doesn’t mean you get to turn around and go after the smaller ones and expect us to NOT be fucking pissed about it
Without writers there is no fanfiction to be consumed. And if there is nothing to consume then there are no active readers so then, at the end of the day, there is no fanfiction community.
It’s by no means your responsibility to stop all of the people mistreating the community as it’s also not your fault writers are feeling the need to take down their stories due to such but if you want to stay a part of a community, perhaps help keep the community around
