@pussyvandyke I'm thinking specifically about the recent situation of Bradley Cooper playing someone (Leonard Bernstein) who is Jewish and has a larger ethnic nose, they just put a fake nose on him rather than seek someone who is ethnically Jewish with those features. Like... that feels wrong.

@pussyvandyke I think it depends, because on one hand, some of the most famous depictions of Jews in media were played by goys even recently (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel--BARELY a Jew on cast), but like. I think it sometimes depends on if you need to make someone "look Jewish"

@hello_fruits this is only a small example, but it's actually connected to a large collection of transfems getting into radfem trans-inclusive ideology. as in anything that affects non-women is misogynistic in nature, and women are the only valid and should be listened to alone

@hello_fruits Real talk: as a transmasc person online, I've seen a scary uptick of transfem people purposefully talking about issues that effect transmasc people as not "real" issues, purposefully invalidating experiences or identities, and recentering transphobia to only mean transfems issues
