Hey, devs attending @ETHGlobal Tokyo!
@CryptoBarP2P (just a 1-minute walk from Ginza sta.) is offering a free workspace for devs from 10am to 6pm starting today. To access the space, simply mint an NFT key and use it to unlock the door. Plus, you'll receive a complimentary drink!
Onlab web3 startup w3lock is deployed at our US San Francisco headquarter, DG717!
Web3 Authentication system which was cited in “the Network State” by @balajis as an example of Physical access 🔐
Our product developed during the ETHIndia hackathon has been featured by @MetaMaskDev.
Thanks @MetaMask, @ETHIndiaco and @ETHGlobal team for giving us the great opportunity. We learned a lot from the hackathon and really enjoyed it!

@dixelclub @RocketCapInv @snakajima@w3lock@uibounty @NapierProtocol “wΞlock” winner of the “Born in Japan Award.”🏆
wΞlock will develop a web3 authentication system for smart locks. It’s anticipated that this technology can be used not only at designated events, but also at restaurants, hotels, and to unlock automobiles.
「wΞlock」がBorn in Japan Awardを受賞🏆
Showed this web3 smart lock system demo from @w3lock earlier to a normie fren who's into smart home household gadgets.
Half an hour later, she set up a wallet, topped up with crypto and secured her ENS username. I call it a win-win-win 🔓🚀
@smileyflag Auth by QR code is also possible. A user can generate a signature in advance and make QR code of it. Then the user can scan the QR code, and our system can verify the signature.

@smileyflag A way of connection doesn't matter ;)
Basically,
1. the system verifies a user (wallet) by signature.
2. the system checks usage right of devices by referring to Ethereum smart contract.
We think this auth method can be utilized not only smart locks but also any IRL devices :)
@smileyflag You're right. Our system refers to Ethereum but users still need to connect our server.
There are several points of trust in the current system: https://t.co/0ddQvTRge6
