.@EliasMakori, I see youโve quit the #PAMOJA#AFCON 2027 LOC. Hmmmm. Wahala dey o!
His statement: It is deeply disappointing that, to date, members of the Media Operations team and I have not been compensated for services rendered during the championship. This matter remains unresolved despite several written appeals and follow-up correspondence addressed to both the Principal Secretary for Sports and CEO of the Kenyan LOC.
The prolonged failure to honour these obligations has raised serious concerns regarding accountability, professionalism, and respect for the contributions of those who dedicate their time, expertise, and effort to the success of national sporting events.
As correctly reported in the media, after careful consideration, I have formally communicated my decision to step away from any future involvement with the Local Organising Committee and, consequently, to decline consideration for any role in the preparations and delivery of the Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations 2027 tournament.
This decision follows careful reflection on my experience serving as Head of Media Operations during the African Nations Championship 2025.
Despite numerous operational and logistical challenges, the Media Operations team worked diligently and professionally to ensure the successful delivery of the tournament.
I remain proud of the contribution made by the team and the role we played in supporting the event's success.

I would like to sincerely thank Hon. CS Kipchumba Murkomen for his trust in me and for having appointed and gazetted me, during his brief tenure as Sports CS, to serve as a member of the 2025 CHAN LOC, handling media operations.
I also appreciate the respect extended by current Sports CS, Hon. Salim Mvurya.
While I appreciate the opportunity I was given to contribute to the successful hosting of the African Nations Championship 2025, I believe it is in my best interest to pursue opportunities and affiliations that align more closely with my professional values and standards, while also focusing more time and energy on community service and family commitments.
I hope that the outstanding compensation owed to the Media Operations team that delivered CHAN last year will be settled without further delay and that lessons will be learned to ensure greater accountability, professionalism, and respect for personnel involved in the delivery of tournaments like the AFCON 2027.
I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served, and I wish the organising teams for the Pamoja AFCON 2027 success as football comes to East Africa.
