and nobody to interact with. If he were to have added a Hometown segment into chapter 3 (instead of just having two hometown segments for chapter 4) I feel it would actively go against the pacing of chapter 3, which ALREADY struggles with pacing in the first place

I don’t understand having a hometown section for chapter 3 because entire premise is Tenna distracting the fun gang with his games and shows, and then they go save Toriel, then Undyne gets kidnapped

It also takes place in the middle of the night, so there’s nothing

Also ch3 not having hometown/castletown segments, a clear secret boss everyone can agree on, more darkners and bosses that dont recycle ch1&2 enemies again, more areas (the boards dont count), shopkeeper screens, and being the only chapter with no new credits theme:
