The Commission's CEO, Dr. Purity Ngina,paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Michael Munene,CEO of @Ncpwds , to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in promoting the rights
of persons with disabilities.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss shared priorities, align efforts and identify practical areas for partnership aimed at enhancing accessibility, advancing equality and fostering the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities.
This engagement concluded with a shared commitment to deepen collaboration in support of inclusive policies and initiatives that expand opportunities for persons with disabilities and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive Kenya.

Held an update meeting with the World Bank team to review the progress of the ongoing KOSAP mini-grid projects in off-grid areas being implemented by Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).

The program aims to provide modern energy access to remote and underserved areas, targeting 300,000 households (approximately 1.5 million people) across 14 counties.

Through continued partnership with the World Bank, we remain committed to supporting Kenya’s goal of achieving universal electricity access by 2030 and advancing the objectives of Vision 2030.

Today, we officially opened the Naromoru Boys Computer Lab, alongside the commissioning of the LPG Gas Project implemented by the ministry of energy and petroleum under our clean cooking energy programme.

The LPG initiative marks an important milestone in our efforts to transition from traditional firewood cooking methods to cleaner, safer, and more sustainable energy solutions, while improving the learning environment and overall well-being of our schools and communities.

In line with the CBC education system, this computer lab will provide learners with access to digital skills, computer science, and computer technology training. It will equip students with the knowledge, creativity, and practical skills required to thrive in the digital era and prepare them for future opportunities in technology and innovation.

I remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote quality education, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and greater opportunities for our young people. Together, we are investing in a brighter and more empowered future.

Honoured to lead the Kenyan team during a historic moment for our country at the 2026 World Geothermal Congress in Canada, as we officially received the hosting rights for the World Geothermal Congress 2029 in Nairobi.

This is a recognition of Kenya’s leadership as Africa’s leading country in geothermal exploration, with over 1,000 MW of installed geothermal capacity and an estimated geothermal resource potential exceeding 10 GW.

Geothermal energy is more than an energy resource; it is a catalyst for economic transformation, industrial development, energy security, climate resilience, and sustainable prosperity.

Hosting the World Geothermal Congress 2029 in Nairobi will place Kenya and Africa at the centre of global conversations on the future of geothermal energy, innovation, and sustainable development.

The Commission, led by Chairperson @mamacount2017, today paid a courtesy call on H.E. Prof. @_KithureKindiki, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, at Harambee House Annex, Nairobi, to deliberate on the country's progress, achievements and emerging priorities in advancing the gender equality and social inclusion agenda.

The meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of milestones, successes and persistent challenges in promoting equality and freedom from discrimination, particularly for Special Interest Groups, including women, children, youth, persons with disabilities, older members of society, minorities and marginalised communities.

The Deputy President reaffirmed that equality and social inclusion remain fundamental aspirations of the nation and called for deliberate, sustained efforts to ensure that no Kenyan is left behind in the country's development journey. He underscored the need to translate constitutional guarantees into tangible outcomes through responsive policies, inclusive governance and strengthened protection mechanisms for vulnerable populations.

Among the key areas of engagement was the renewed commitment to marshal collective national efforts towards the realisation of the two-thirds gender principle, intensify the fight against gender-based violence, including femicide, and strengthen interventions aimed at protecting minorities and marginalised groups from exclusion and discrimination.
