Wanting to fire Heupel at this point is borderline insanity. However, it's also completely okay to be extremely concerned and to have major doubts about his ability to succeed from here. And those concerns/doubts weren't suddenly born during the Texas loss. For many, they slowly developed over the course of the 2025 season.

It's the gameplan! Yes, the OL was horrible (and, yes, the Texas DL was great). Yes, Faizon had a bad game. Despite all of that, Texas won by a FG. It's Heupel's job to scheme around subpar OL play and a struggling QB if he needs to. Just a couple of successful plays in the passing game could've won the game but we never seemed to adjust and try anything different.

@VolsMuse Agree. Even as we rushed for 300 ypg against Furman, GaTech and Kennesaw St, it was extremely concerning how many times our backs were stopped at or near the line of scrimmage with little room to run. Our line has severe issues.
