Has there ever been a more rambling, disjointed, and pathetic presidential war speech?
Donald Trump’s actions in Iran will be considered one of the greatest policy blunders in the history of our country, failing to articulate objectives, alienating allies, and ignoring the kitchen table problems Americans are facing.
He is completely unfit to be Commander-in-Chief and the whole world knows it.
DAY 30 NIGHT BRIEFING — Sunday March 29, 2026.
🚨 WATER RESERVOIR CONFIRMED STRUCK
A 10,000 cubic metre water reservoir in Haftgel, Khuzestan Province, was struck in US-Israeli attacks. Confirmed by Wikipedia’s war timeline and Al Jazeera. This is civilian water infrastructure serving a populated area. It follows the chemical factory hazardous leak in Israel’s Neot Hovav industrial zone from Iranian missiles earlier today. Both sides are now hitting civilian infrastructure simultaneously.
💥 STRIKES ONGOING IN TEHRAN RIGHT NOW
The IDF confirmed it is currently striking Iranian regime targets across Tehran as of this hour. A man was photographed sifting through rubble in a commercial district in Tehran hit today per CNN. Two killed and five wounded in a village near Shaft. Three wounded in Saadat Abad. Nine wounded in western Tehran. Bandar Khamir port city struck killing at least five people today.
🏭 PETROCHEMICAL PLANT IN TABRIZ HIT
Iranian state media confirmed US-Israeli strikes targeted a petrochemical plant in Tabriz today. Added to the cumulative civilian and industrial infrastructure destruction that now includes steel plants, nuclear facilities, a water reservoir, and petrochemical facilities.
☢️ BUSHEHR NUCLEAR PLANT STRUCK AGAIN
An additional strike on the Bushehr nuclear power plant confirmed alongside damage to an Iranian Air Force base in the city. Russia has formally warned Israel and the US against striking nuclear power plants.
🎓 UNIVERSITIES CLOSING TOMORROW
The American University of Beirut announced it is switching to fully remote operations Monday and Tuesday due to the IRGC threat against American and Israeli affiliated universities in the Gulf. The IRGC deadline for Washington to condemn strikes on Iranian universities expires tomorrow March 30. Texas A&M, Northwestern Qatar, and NYU Abu Dhabi are all under direct threat.
🇺🇳 UNIFIL PEACEKEEPER KILLED
A UNIFIL peacekeeper was killed in an attack on a southern Lebanon position confirmed by Al Jazeera. This is the first confirmed UN peacekeeper killed in this war. International consequences are significant.
📊 MARKETS OPENED UGLY
S&P futures down 0.7 percent. Nasdaq down 0.8 percent. WTI at $102. Brent at $115. Gas at $3.98 per gallon Sunday, breaking $4.00 this week. The bond market approaching 4.50 on the 10-year with no diplomatic breakthrough to price in. Ghalibaf called it perfectly.
🪖 50,000 US TROOPS NOW IN THEATRE
New York Times confirmed over 50,000 American troops in the Middle East, 10,000 above baseline. Largest presence since 2003 Iraq invasion. Channel 12 confirmed Israeli troops will not participate in any ground operation. Americans will go in alone if Trump decides to go in.
🇵🇰 ISLAMABAD: NO BREAKTHROUGH ANNOUNCED
The four-nation meeting of Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministers produced no publicly announced breakthrough. Iran’s five conditions remain: end to aggression, war reparations, sovereignty over Hormuz, comprehensive ceasefire including Lebanon, and guarantees against recurrence. Washington has not publicly accepted any of them.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Day 30 ends with Tehran being struck in real time, a water reservoir destroyed, a UNIFIL peacekeeper dead, markets bleeding, gas approaching $4.00, 50,000 American troops assembled without a decision, and no diplomatic breakthrough from Islamabad.
April 6 is 8 days away.
Day 31 begins in a few hours and I suspect it will not be quiet.

DAY 28 FRIDAY NIGHT BRIEFING. Everything That Mattered Today.
This has been the most consequential single day of this war since February 28.
🔶 THE MILITARY PICTURE
Israel struck two of Iran’s largest steel factories, a power plant, and civilian nuclear sites including the Arak heavy water reactor. The IAEA confirmed no radiation risk from the Arak strike. Iran retaliated with cluster munition missile strikes on Tel Aviv overnight killing a man in his 60s and injuring multiple others. At least six impact sites confirmed across Tel Aviv, Givatayim, and Ramat Gan. The IDF said Iran fired three missile attacks overnight into Saturday morning. Iron Dome visibly struggling to intercept the cluster warhead missiles. Iran fired the modified Sejil missile today carrying four independent warheads each between 100 and 200 kilograms. Iran has not missed a single day of firing in 28 days.
Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia struck by an Iranian missile and drone attack. 10 US service members wounded including two seriously. Multiple refueling aircraft damaged. US wounded total now exceeds 300 confirmed by CENTCOM. This is the most damaging single strike on American operational infrastructure combining equipment and personnel casualties simultaneously.
🔶 THE LOGISTICS CATASTROPHE
The KC-135 tankers at Prince Sultan are the operational backbone of the entire air campaign. Damage them and every long-range strike mission loses range and capacity. This is why Iran targeted them. The total tanker losses across this war now include five damaged around March 14 at Prince Sultan and today’s additional damage. A KC-135 and crew of six were lost in a separate incident around Day 15. Iran is systematically dismantling the fuel lines of the war.
🔶 THE ECONOMIC VERDICT
$4.8 trillion in S&P 500 market cap erased since February 28. Wall Street posted its fifth consecutive weekly loss, longest such streak in nearly four years. The 30-year Treasury approaching 5 percent. The Fed not expected to cut rates until December 2027 with rate hikes more likely than cuts. Crude surged 5 percent back above $100. Iranian oil revenues are $139 million per day, up $25 million from before the war. Iran is making more money from this war than before it started.
🔶 THE DIPLOMATIC CIRCUS
Trump extended the energy plant strike pause to April 6 attributing it to an Iranian government request. Iran denied making any such request to the Wall Street Journal. Trump revealed at a Miami investment summit sponsored by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund that he called the Strait of Hormuz the “Strait of Trump.” He said the US has annihilated Iran and wiped out its navy. He said Cuba is next. He admitted the US was unaware Iran had missiles capable of reaching 2,700 miles. He said there are 3,554 targets remaining and it will be done pretty quickly. Pakistan confirmed it is relaying messages between the US and Iran. Iran has not confirmed any formal response to the 15-point plan yet.
🔶 THE FORCE BUILDUP
USS George H.W. Bush carrier strike group deploying to the Middle East. A third carrier now heading to the theatre. Combined with USS Abraham Lincoln operational, USS Tripoli and USS Boxer en route with Marines, and the 82nd Airborne deploying, the force assembling approaches 17,000 ground troops. A retired admiral called any island operation “sitting ducks.” A former CENTCOM commander said the uranium seizure option “isn’t a quick in and out kind of deal.” The WSJ’s most honest assessment: the biggest purpose these troops serve may simply be leverage.
🔶 THE BOTTOM LINE
Iran’s oil revenues are surging. Its missiles are getting through. Its modified Sejil with four warheads is overwhelming depleted Israeli interceptors. And the president who launched this war just called the world’s most critical energy chokepoint after himself at a Saudi investment summit while American service members were being treated for shrapnel wounds 600 kilometres inside Saudi Arabia
