@RodKahx Maybe you could try and teach her critical thinking, how to avoid jumping to conclusions from anecdotal evidence and how not to approach news with a confirmation bias. You could also tell her how law enforcement agencies in free countries are there to people safe.
Do we choose beliefs? Before Jesus and the Buddha there was many myth and legend about a hero born of a virgin. Things are the way they are for a reason. No one can prove God exists, but no can prove the non-existence either. If religion does something good in your life hold on to it. If it doesn’t, then drop it or change the way you perceive and practice it.
