🚨 MAJOR UPDATE: One of the pilots who survived the deadly Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 crash reportedly made a heartbreaking comment moments after escaping the wreckage.

Amazon Air Flight 7598 overran Runway 30 while landing at Miami International Airport on September 6, crashing through the airport perimeter and striking vehicles. Five people on the ground were killed.

The pilots have now been identified as 21 Air Captain Joseph Carroll, 55, and First Officer Jaime Felipe Silva Molina, 37.

Witness Abraham Altamar told CBS News that one of the pilots approached him after escaping the aircraft. He was reportedly shaking and injured around his forehead and hand.

Altamar gave the pilot his phone so he could call his wife.

According to the witness, the pilot told his family he was alive and out of the aircraft before saying:

“My career is over.”

It remains unclear which of the two pilots made the call.

Both pilots were treated for injuries and have since been released from hospital. The NTSB has recovered the Boeing 767’s cockpit voice and flight data recorders as investigators work to determine why the aircraft overran the runway.
