Just because they only *deliver* mail on regular weekdays doesn't mean they don't do the rest of the work to get the mail to that person on other days.

Over the weekend (saturday/sunday), it's sorted and shipped out, or separated for local delivery.

On Tuesday, it'll be sent to or arrive at the correct depot for local delivery. There, it's sorted for delivery.
