13 days. 3,245 miles. 43 hours of asphalt. New York to California: Done.
New York City, NY → Great Falls, VA → Richmond, VA → Charlotte, NC→ Atlanta, GA → Mobile, AL → Lafayette, LA → Houston, TX→ Fort Stockton, TX → El Paso, TX → Phoenix, AZ → Los Angeles, CA
Haunted hotels. Questionable motels. Long nights. Longer roads.
Old friends. Bad drivers. Wrong turns. But no shortcuts. Just movement. And just in time for dinner.
With the #Kaptaan, through the years (2014 to 2018 — will post earlier pics if I can find them).
Love him or hate him, Pakistan is lucky to have #ImranKhan alive.
Fair assessment. And lets not forget, the private networks work for the government and military anyway: inadvertently, coercively, as well as otherwise, due to the information ministry's advertising schematics.
Genuine question: do we still need PTV? 🤔
This week the ECC approved a Rs 13 billion bailout to cover its salaries and operations.
In 2012, PTV Home had a 43% audience share. Today it's 4%. Its digital and YouTube engagement is the lowest of any major Pakistani broadcaster.
Yes, The terrestrial signal reaches rural areas of the country but telecoms reach 92% of Pakistan. I spend a lot of time with people in rural Pakistan. They get their news from YouTube and WhatsApp. Not PTV. People can’t rely on the quality (or the content 👀)
Perfectly summed up as: ‘Propaganda with no Audience’
With dozens of private channels and the rising popularity of online platforms, what purpose does PTV serve anymore?
The pain of families searching for their missing loved ones, especially their children, should never be overlooked. Every reported disappearance deserves a timely, transparent, and impartial investigation. Protecting the life, dignity, and rights of every citizen is a fundamental responsibility of the state.
For families waiting for answers, every day of uncertainty is deeply painful. We stand with all those seeking truth, accountability, and the safe return of their loved ones.

#Pakistan: CPJ is deeply concerned by reports that independent journalist Razi Tahir and his colleague Muhammad Saif have been missing since August 1. They were reportedly taken by men in police uniforms from their office in Islamabad, and their whereabouts remain unknown. Pakistani authorities must acknowledge whether they are in state custody, ensure due process, and immediately release them if they are being arbitrarily detained.

The Long March that began on 9 June continues.
Despite weeks of arrests, killings, injuries, and intimidation, the people continue to march with determination. Today's protest is another reminder that this movement is rooted in the people's demand for fundamental rights, justice, and the implementation of commitments made by the authorities.
This movement belongs to the people. As long as those legitimate demands remain unmet, the voices of the people will continue to be heard.

We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise.
But he’s betrayed us all.
Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center.
The movement has begun.
“Dirty Harry’s dirty task force - operating under the ISI and comprised of military officers, soldiers, SSG personnel, paramilitary forces, police, intelligence officials, the FC, and other security force members, which were previously deployed during the 26 November #IslamabadMassacre- is now being used in Azad Kashmir”, reports @wajskhan.
Various international media organizations have reported over two dozen protestors killed in Azad Kashmir by regime forces, where there is an internet blackout.
Another bombshell: "The system has failed."
No. The system hasn't failed. The people who hijacked it have failed the system. Have destroyed it.
A parliamentary democracy stands on one foundation: the people's mandate. That's why we hold elections. When elections are rigged and the mandate is stolen, those without public legitimacy inevitably drive the country down the abyss.
Imprisoning @ImranKhanPTI, the leader millions trust and replacing the people's choice with a corrupt, fascist, elite rule is not a failure of the system. It is the subversion of the system.
Pakistan's parliamentary system has not failed. It has been repeatedly undermined by the establishment since 1977, denying the people the right to let their chosen representatives govern.
People of Pakistan: Don't be distracted by this debate. It is political chaff, designed to divert attention from the real issues: the destruction of the economy, the erosion of constitutional rule, political repression, killings and the imprisonment of thousands whose only "crime" was demanding that their vote be respected.
Our demands are clear:
• Restore the Constitution.
• Repeal the 26th and 27th Constitutional Amendments.
• #ReleaseImranKhan
• Hold Free and fair elections now, with EVMs, we trust neither you, the ECP nor a manual ballot.
Usurpers, looters, killers, stop blaming the system. Accept that you have destroyed it.
Forget our dignified people, even the "cockroaches" are coming for you now.
Fess up and scoot.
Big one dropping on tonight's #Mahaaz — exclusive intel on a new permanent internal security command structure now running domestic ops. Same officers from Islamabad's November 26 massacre are now handling Kashmir. Straight chain of command to the top of ISI counterintelligence. Tune in live in 10, you don't want to miss this: Dirty Harry's Dirty Task Force https://t.co/EkLV4kXYo2
Tough question to answer: I don’t know but might it be because the cops and paramilitaries are shooting at them? Wild guess.
@BBC you could maybe follow this up with a quiz about why there are so many dead Palestinian babies in Gaza and corpses strewn around Ukraine.
Totally condemn the killing of innocent people in Mirpur and other areas of Azad Kashmir.
Shooting directly at protesters who were peacefully expressing their political views is barbaric.
I will be speaking with government representatives in Pakistan and AJK to call for accountability, condemnation, and immediate action to move towards a peaceful resolution.
Speaking up against the killing of innocent people is a moral and human duty. To remain silent is an injustice to humanity.
I’m pretty sure Mayor Mamdani doesn’t want to live in a city with a man accused of hiring a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, secretly recording the encounter on video, then mailing the tape to his own sister, then going to prison for tax evasion and witness tampering.
The European Union has in its report, published little while ago, asked Pakistan to, as a priority for future engagement, ensure accountability for human rights violations; increased efforts against torture; in-prison
and capital punishment reforms; reversing negative developments in relation to enforced
disappearances and violations of freedom of expression; effectively addressing violence
against women; securing children’s access to education; ending child marriage; effectively
implementing the newly established action plans of provinces and territories to eliminate child
labour; stepping up the enforcement of existing laws against forced labour; restraining
discrimination of minorities; strengthening the independence, impartiality, and operational
capacity of anti-corruption bodies at federal and provincial levels. This EU said was important for further GSP+ eligibility and compliance with international commitments.
