If you haven't seen this visualization of git activity you should check it out. It's a novel visualization of commits to the Daedalus wallet. https://t.co/SfyvfEe1uj

@hillelogram This is an excellent essay. Holding software engineers to a "higher standard" is more a case of holding project managers and executives to a "higher standard" Most engineers I know would support a slower pace and more robust, secure codebase. Project schedules drive quality.
Is "software engineering" real engineering? Thank you, @hillelogram, for actually doing the homework.
To clarify, XP is an attempt to create a software engineering that is native to software, not a naive copy of the other forms of engineering we are jealous of.
I haven't used #Ballerinalang but the idea looks promising. There are so many little paradigm mismatches writing distributed applications. A cloud-native language makes sense.

@KentBeck@hillelogram Software engineering has the same design, cost, and business trade-offs as other engineering but with faster iterations. There are plenty of poorly engineered cars, toys, and as-seen-on-tv products just as there are poorly engineered software systems.
Looking into Hyperledger today. Providing coin-agnostic APIs can be valuable for people looking to leverage blockchain tech for innovative applications.

When building Vue applications for production in a Docker container, you may need to turn off source maps to reduce memory consumption.

Do the number of GitHub stars correlate with project longevity? Or, is contributor count a better indicator? No one wants to bet the farm on a dependency that goes zombie in a year.
Sick of the internet shouting factory? Looking for a more civil place to discuss the big issues? After five years of development, we welcome you to Kialo, a system designed for thoughtful debate.

@nshivar Just read your article on comment spam where you recommend curating comments personally. Liked it and wanted to comment on it but comments are closed -- oh the irony!
@JS_Cheerleader I don't focus on a specific language but on design principles, patterns, algorithm complexity, logical analysis, communication, motivation.
