The Big Easy is an energetic swing band from Leeds. Their music spans the 20th century; covering repertoire from the early days of jazz, classic New Orleans numbers and lively jump-jive.

I often say that I’d like to grow my hair again and lose a bit of weight. If I also bought a pink suit we’re basically looking at the future here…
Simon Spillett Quartet with Liam Dunachie, Alec Dankworth and Pete Cater is @wakefieldjazz next Friday
Simon is a powerfully swinging, straight-ahead tenor saxophonist, one capable of taking the audience on a roller-coaster ride from energetic bebop to heartfelt balladry.
How do I get this event list showing for my own business profile? @google I have created the events in Google business but they show as updates from owner. Help appreciated!
Can you help me to grow my collection? It’s a morning of PhD work and I’m looking through my pile of Jazz listings leaflets which make a colourful window into the world of programming, and deserve to be archived and researched. Thanks to @YazzAhmed1 for loyally picking these up
And guess what, they are @wakefieldjazz the night before. June 8th marks 50 years since Tubby Hayes died making for a poignant event. Tix £17, half price for under 25s
This will be a great gig. June 3rd.
Saxophone master Simon Spillett leads an absolutely KILLER band, playing the music of the legendary Tubby Hayes in one of his old haunts, the iconic London venue - The Bull’s Head in Barnes.

Friday 26 May
The James Allsopp Quartet is the new project from the BBC Jazz award winning saxophonist. The band builds on joyful and haunting melodies and combines them with deep bass riffs and a sense of swing rooted in the jazz tradition but not beholden to it.

It was a riveting band performance, in which each had ample space for showcasing their solo talents, without the slightest compromise to the integrity of the songs.
SHOCK NEWS!
I was interviewed by the @guardian about @UnleashedComedy.
I was quoted accurately and it wasn’t a hit job.
Hats off to Rachel Aroesti. Proper journalist!
