@Les_Johns It accomplishes a lot. The main thing is that those are peak hours for heavy drinking & bad decision-making. The businesses that are open during those hours tend to be ones where people gather in close proximity. And alcohol lowers your inhibitions - not good during a pandemic!

@HSTeachProbs I don’t give up time w/ my son for grading. But sometimes I do take a minute to email a student. I won’t feel bad for that. I think our children need to learn that they aren’t the center of the universe, & that work isn’t always 9 to 5. Their future work ethic will come from us.

We need balance, for sure, but this isn’t realistic. Esp. right now w/ online classes; students need to know that they can reach us & that we are there for them. My son is only 4, but one day I hope he sees how hard I work for my students, & says, “Wow! Teachers really ❤️ us!”
