@sfchronicle The Giants (and @mlb) are to blame for requiring the players to carry their purely political message. Fine if team wants to deface the stadium with rainbows the like, but forcing the players to parrot their political message…. Nope.
@Blunami2026@MeghanMcCain Oh, they have some characteristics but “intelligent” doesn’t apply to many of them. Quite to the contrary, most of them are just DNC water-carriers that parrot the official talking points.
@SenWarren Have you forgotten your oath to the uphold the Constitution? Wealth taxes are unconstitutional.
You can’t have a wealth tax. Therefore, all of your blather is just clickbait rhetoric.
@JonAnde86417861@RepMikeQuigley He’s talking about Social Security. Everybody pays 6.2% and the employer pay 6.2% on the first $182,500. Everybody’s treated equally, and everybody gets the same benefit based on how much they paid in. He wants some to pay more in without getting more in return.
@RepMikeQuigley And he’ll get the same thing out of the Social Security that the person making $184,500 gets. They pay in the same amount in SSA taxes and get out the same amount in benefits.
If you lift the cap, then you have to lift the benefit also. That’s the very definition of fairness.
@PatsyDiabetes In this country one most certainly has the right to pursue becoming a trillionaire, billionaire or millionaire.
“Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”
@EdMarkey I hate to break it to you, but it’s neither my money, your money, nor the governments money. If you’re going to look in peoples’ pockets, it should be people like the Somali fraudsters that have defrauded the taxpayers of hundreds of millions of dollars.
@SenWarren Have you forgotten this?
“I, Elizabeth Warren, do solemnly swear or affirm (as the case may be) that I will support the Constitution of the United States.”
Perhaps you also forgot that wealth taxes are unconstitutional?
@SenWarren Number of people currently provided gainful employment by:
Mark Zuckerberg: ~70,000
Jeff Bezos: ~1.5 million
Elizabeth Warren: : ~0
Number of people who lost their jobs at Spirit Airlines because of:
Mark Zuckerberg: ~0
Jeff Bezos: ~0
Elizabeth Warren: ~17,000
@joanieblondell@SenWarren They have been paying their fair share because everybody that pays in gets benefits directly proportional to what they paid in. If you raise taxes on high earners then you have to raise the benefits for them as well. That’s the very definition of fairness.
@DaveYostOH "The undisputed facts and the State's legal arguments make clear that the core concern underlying this litigation is the regulation of Google's editorial judgments in curating, ranking, and presenting information. This is, at bottom, an attempt to regulate speech."
@DaveYostOH There's some more gems in that Opinion form the Court of Appeals:
"This Court will not accomplish by judicial fiat what the legislature has not chosen to do."
@micah_erfan Good. Hopefully they’ll rescue CBS, CNN in WaPo who have proven themselves to be nothing more than water-carriers for the DNC for many years.
@SenAdamSchiff California has the stupidest elections in the country with pretty much insecure, open-ended and seemingly never-ending vote submission that constantly raises red flags and its ridiculous ballot initiative process.
