“You can say Poverty, but poverty exists everywhere”
“Many of you are telling me not to come to Nigeria, I’m crazy for wanting to be there and all of the above and you don’t realize you are contributing to the destruction of your own Country.
The worst thing is to try to build another man’s Country when you have your own Country.

It is now obvious that the loss of ATIKU Abubakar at the last polls hurt him deeply more than all his previous losses put together; it has since sent him spinning like a drunkard, lashing out to hold on to every single straw that resembles a lifeline. This is bad for his health; he should accept that this game is over (as the Chicago State University responses have shown) and retire peacefully to his famed abode. Those around him have a role to play in this.
PRESS RELEASE
FG, TUC AGREE ON TWO WEEKS TO RESOLVE SOME LABOUR ISSUES
The Federal Government and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have agreed to give government two weeks to address some of the grievances of the Congress.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Solomon Lalong, disclosed this in Abuja at the end of a meeting with the leadership of Trade Union Congress, led by its President, Comrade Festus Osifo.
The meeting was convened by the Minister to resolve TUC’s and Nigeria Labour Congress’ differences with government and to avert the pending warning strike by organised labour.
According to Lalong, the issues for which a two-week timeline was set for their resolution include wage award for federal civil servants to cushion the effect of rising poverty among them, and tax exemption for a certain level of workers, both in the public and private sectors.
The other issues on the two-week timeline are to put structures in place to ensure effective implementation of the palliatives declared by the Federal Government for the states and the FCT, and to set out the modalities for accessing the N70 billion proposed for the funding of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), among others.
The Minister declared that after the two weeks, the meeting would reconvene for further discussions, and added that the parties understood that some of the issues were urgent, while some would require a long span of time to resolve.
According to Lalong, the parties also agreed that there would be no strike within this peace period of two weeks “while we are doing deliberations and also working towards realising some of these objectives.”
The President of the TUC, Comrade Festus Osifo, stated that the two-week timeline was reasonable, as it would give government ample time to address the issues.
He disclosed that at the commencement of the meeting, the leadership of TUC was pushing for a one-week timeline for the resolution of issues in dispute, but had to reconsider after weighing governments constraints, stating, “We also need to be pragmatic.”
Osifo stated that their demands, as contained in a communique earlier issued by the Congress, include resolving the impasse between Lagos State Government and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), increasing the amount provided for palliative as the sum of N5billion allocated per state is inadequate to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians.
Earlier, in a press conference, the Minister had implored Nigeria Labour Congress to suspend its planned two-day warning strike scheduled for 5th and 6th September, as such action would be detrimental to the gains already recorded by government in securing a greater future for Nigerian workers and citizens.
He urged the leadership of NLC to give the government some time to address the issues raised holistically.
The Minister reassured Nigerian workers that government would never take them for granted nor fail to appreciate their support and understanding.

My PEPT Prediction:
As I always said, too much effort was put into technicalities than substance especially by one of the Petitioners, Peter Obi. He came 3rd in the election and is asking the Court to disqualify President Tinubu and either make him President or deluded a rerun.
The problem with that is that he failed to sue the man who came second as a party in the suit. So how does he stand to gain from his original relief when the man who won more states and votes than him has all his votes intact? Curiously, he also isn’t asking the court to declare him President because he scored the highest number of votes. Rather, he nitpicked a few states a claimed to have won, brought in experts who contradicted themselves and did more harm than good to his case.
The quest to get President Tinubu disqualified on the following grounds;
1. Perjury
2. Conviction of a criminal offence
Etc won’t work.
I’ll take no 2 for example. For it to be operative, you must have been found guilty for an offence related to dishonesty WITHIN TEN YEARS of the election. Assuming without conceding President Tinubu was actually convicted of drug related charges, the time frame is well outside what’s in the Constitution’s purview.
Perjury is a criminal offence but is not a ground to disqualify him. If you want to prosecute him for it, you wait until he is no longer President.
The ado about the 25% Abuja is straightforward and I fully expect the Court of Appeal to rule against the Petitioners.
Only one party, Atiku tried to argue substance, ala I won the election but there were irregularities. But the question is; did he do enough to prove the Irregularities were sufficient to affect the entire outcome of the election? What’s the Bar a petitioner alleging this has to scale in this age of BVAS? I refer you to Oyetola vs Adeleke Supreme Court.
My take is; PEPT rules for President Tinubu in an unanimous decision tomorrow. I am happy to chew crow if wrong.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Dr. Vwaere Diaso, a dedicated medical professional whose life was taken due to a mechanical failure within the elevator at the Doctors quarters of the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island. It is distressing to think that such a promising young doctor had her life cut short in such a devastating manner.
As a parent myself, I cannot help but feel the pain and sorrow that Dr. Diaso's loved ones must be experiencing during this difficult time. My heart goes out to her parents, family members, friends, and colleagues who are grieving this profound loss.
To the Nigeria Medical Association, the Medical Guild, and all doctors in Lagos State, I extend my deepest sympathies. Losing a fellow healthcare professional is a tremendous loss for the entire medical community.
In light of this tragedy, I have taken immediate action to initiate a thorough investigation into the cause of the mechanical failure. It is my sincere commitment that this investigation will be conducted with utmost transparency and fairness, leaving no room for any biases or favoritism.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident.
May Dr. Vwaere Diaso's soul rest in eternal peace.
