'Book and a blanket club' will be taking place every Thursday lunchtime for Year 5 in Sapphire Class with Miss Teale. This is an initiative to encourage reading for pleasure and informal book talk in Year 5. The first session took place this week and was a huge success! 📚
What a cracker of a day! We love seeing the children enjoy all the festive cheer. #ChristmasFun
Q: What happens if you eat Christmas decorations?
A:You get Tinsillitis!
What a busy week it has been! From residential trips to SPLAT sessions, Christmas productions and carol services - we really couldn’t have had a more fun filled week. #GrowingGreatness#ChristmasFun
This years theme was: REACH OUT
During assembly pupils watched a presentation prepared by the Anti-Bullying Alliance @ABAonline and discussed how to REACH OUT, not only for help but to help others and to create kinder communities.

YEAR 3 SCIENCE: Today our very excited rock detectives conducted experiments on rocks to test their hardness, density, permeability. The acid test proved that there was some organic matter in some of the rocks.
Year 4 have been investigating the properties of different substances. We mixed cornflour with water to create a fluid with properties that change under pressure.
Today, pupils participated in our annual ceremony whereby each pupil placed a decorated poppy on the mural outside - followed by a moment spent in silence, a poem recital and a song performance by Miss Couch.

Today's "get to know our team" feature shines a spotlight on Miss Grimes, a member of staff that joined Whiteknights in September 2022 as one of our Year 6 teachers.

Year 4 - Art! Linking to our Viking theme in History, Year 4 made Viking-inspired jewellery out of wire. We also studied the work of Miriam Haskell for extra inspiration.
Year 4- Design and Technology. Last week, we designed and made Viking longships. First, we tested the sails using toy cars. Then, we built our ships. Finally, we tested our boats to see if they met our design specification!
Year 4 - Computing. This week we have been busy being music producers. Some activities include making our own beats, using samples and making patterns with pitch. It has been great to combine our music and computing knowledge.
