@cu2_ely@OfficialJoelF@DHTrust #1 isn’t a real reason & you’re wrong, it’s going to be moved to the Grove funded by Griffen. The 3M goes into the city budget which is badly needed $ as budget is tight. If the land is more valuable than $3M then it will generate way better property tax revenue once redeveloped.
@Chris_Gothner@volvoshine I've never subscribed to that "Real Miami" narrative precisely because most people living in supposed Real Miami hate nearly everything that has always made Miami Miami. The criticisms from today's "locals" are indistinguishable from yesterday's (racist) pre-white flight locals.
@tomaskenn How much of this also has to do with hotels shooting themselves in the foot with outrageous pricing? $500 a night for a mediocre hotel like the Sherbrooke is a bad joke.
@bellaliberteaa It will at the very least obviously force that question to be asked, which hasn’t really been asked before. Were you aware that West Miami receives 15% of their revenue from just 6 red light cameras? Municipalities that exist solely to tax residents should not exist, flat out.
@AriesMercu96291@MungoJerryLTD I mean you could say the exact same thing with George Martin. Sgt Pepper doesn’t exist without him or the London equivalent of the wrecking crew lol. Also the Beatles had far more freedom and label support. Sgt Pepper took 700 studio hours, Pet Sounds took a tiny fraction of that
