@FixingEducation Even though we have to “cross the t’s & dot the i’s” for a 6th grader who is failing, said 6th grader will move on to the middle school. And all of the RTI paperwork & documentation gets put in a box and forgot about at the middle school.

Schools spend hours trying to “reach” the kid who openly doesn’t care, while the kid who tries every day quietly gets ignored. We’re exhausting ourselves chasing resistance instead of investing in effort.

When a student is consistently absent and barely does any of the work, don’t blame the school or teacher(s) when that student fails.
