@twinklisation@AdyLady9969 Time to brush up on stats theory!
It’s a matter of proportions. Given >95% of the adult population is at least double-dosed, then if the vaccines were totally ineffective, Covid infections, deaths, hospitalisations, etc would also be >95% - but they’re not.
@louiseA98943962@AdyLady9969 These stats can’t be used to support either side of the debate when 20% of results are unknown, bearing in mind that >95% of population are at least double dosed.
@LeeMEdwards @clewisart @ds_psych@AdyLady9969 How is it then that the % of hospitalised Covid patients who are unvaccinated is grossly disproportionate to the <5% unvaxxed in the population?
@lendingcoaus@cole_roz@AdyLady9969 Many rules have come into play to reduce the impact of passive smoking - banned indoors, etc, which when you think about it is a form of social distancing of smokers. Further, there are legal precedents wrt AIDS in knowingly transmitting it to others.
Last night I watched #DontLookUp. It was like seeing my adult life flash past me.
Even down to the morning TV show where I totally lost it while trying, for the 1000th time, to explain what climate breakdown would do.
All the anger, the frustration, the desperation: I feel it.
@latingle Despite the unfolding crisis in greater Sydney, some people can still fly from Sydney to other states, and as has been demonstrated in the past week, some travellers are infected. I don’t get it!
