PMs reaching for vibe coding are reacting to the right instinct, but executing it in the wrong layer.
The leverage isn’t in having PMs generate PRs. It’s in having them produce high-quality, constraint-aware specs.
@onejasonknight This is a super important topic. I have always found the friction here to be driven by a lack of transparency. Glad you guys putting time towards it!
Talking to customers is like training your personal LLM. You have to do a ton of it, and over time it creates deep intuition for what customers value and how the product should be built.
Using data is inference. You take that intuition and throw it against a new input or trend in the business, iterate a few times, and drive to a precise answer.
(h/t @shreyas for sparking this thought)
@EugeneKuzne @startswithv @onejasonknight Low dev resource requirement for Aha integrations. We just set it up on a two-way connection to ADO and it is working fine. Not a perfect integration but the right workflow can fill the gaps
Short thread on something I wish I had understood much better 10 years ago:
If you are ambitious, there are basically two games you can play at a startup
Many people early in their careers (especially those from big tech, consulting, finance) play the wrong game, and lose both
Product people who pooh-pooh instinct would experience extreme cognitive dissonance if they realized how many iconic products they use regularly were built by instinct.
Interesting chart from McKinsey via @ROIChristie
There are now roughly 20% more private capital (VC, PE) firms than hedge funds.
The number of hedge funds has been shrinking since ~2005, when there were 3x more hedge funds than private capital firms.
