Our recent secondary school inspection has been a resounding success, achieving an outstanding evaluation across four key areas.
Following a challenging selection process the following students have been appointed as student leaders:

Two long serving staff have moved on today from Wallace Hall Academy.
John Blair has been a DHT at Wallace Hall Academy for 14 years and he is moving to be a DHT at Marr College in Ayrshire.
π¦₯πThe Higher and Advanced Higher Biology classes had a trip to Edinburgh zoo this week. We had a great day in the sun, a talk on primate behaviour and some ethogram work watching the various animals to understand animal behaviour and welfare.π¦π
On Thursday 25th June 24 pupils participated in the school golf competition at Thornhill GC. All players did very well, especially given the extreme heat βοΈ The winners on the day were Corey (scratch) & Ellen (stableford)β³οΈ Thanks to Thornhill GC for their fantastic hospitality!

Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
Thanks to a successful grant application to Her Voice, Her Choice, we were delighted to take a group of girls on a team-building and confidence-boosting trip to Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate, where they tackled the Scottish Assault Course and paint balling.
Congratulations to the mixed swimming team who competed in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay at the recent Guid Nychburris gala.
They performed exceptionally well swimming alongside pupils who were in S6 and were awarded gold medals in the S1 - S2 category.
Yesterday 28 pupils took part in the regional athletics event in Dumfries. 12 podiums and 2 regional champions, with Ruby in shot putt and Orla in High jump! Well done everyone! ππΌ@WallaceHallSch
The S6's participated in their Leadership Day this week, run by the British Army. There were some excellent examples of good leadership skills and a whole lot of fun.
Students were tasked with leading their groups through a range of activities, as well as presenting to each other what they had learned about good and bad leadership.
