Ran my first 10k race this morning. I'd set a goal time of sub 50, which was 2 and half minutes quicker than I'd ran before. Luckily, race adrenaline helped and I completed 10k in 49:36 - even after falling flat on my face going up a sand bank at the 6km mark π
First 10k race is in a couple of weeks. If someone had told me I would be doing this 3 years ago I'd have laughed in their face, but I'm actually addicted to running now. As well as the physical benefits, my mental health is better than it's been in years. Good old Endorphins.
So, 2 and half years ago I was 18st 9lb and set myself a target weight of 15st 0lb. After many swings I took up running in February. Fast forward to now and I'm running 10 milers, 10k races and a half Marathon in March. As a result I have hit my target weight today. Finally...
@johnstone_mikey You've been to Cleethorpes, no such thing as a miserable day there π At least Morecambe and Tranmere both lost. Good luck for rest of season, hope you stay up.
