did not work as well as i expected. really dumbed down a lot of things when i put down a number theory textbook in it. anything which works better for you?
If you want to absorb all the textbooks you’ve been procrastinating on (like OSTEP)
Dump every chapter into Codex, ask it to create Math Academy-style lessons
You’ll learn faster and probably absorb a lot more if you actually code things up yourself
@shilpiagrawal55 would you like to use a better goodreads? procrastinating on making one for some years. can start if you'd use it and give some starter feedback and help ideate
@ABiggerSpalash read the 3bp. nothing comes close . rest all recs are good but do not contain the grand world building and elaborate plans and novel ideas like 3bp
have you ever wanted to dive into my body of work but found it hard to navigate? well, @mannygoestomars put together a really cool interface that's really quite fun to click around in:

the biggest competitive advantage you can have over those more talented and smarter than you is the ability to feel discomfort
the most intelligent person you know is actually very 1 dimensional and slow to fix their weaknesses
if any of those weaknesses overlap with any of the success criteria in your field, u can rly just put them in the dust just by wanting to learn the ugly thing more
I suspect Nolan has a copy of "The Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" by his bed. His movie has a point of view. You may not like it and it may even bounce off you completely. But he made a movie true to that point of view.
Retarded take.
Spent a lifetime chewing glass in the military, in martial arts and my career and consistently found that the ones who have the most fun and are the most light-hearted about things last the longest.
Life, your career and your business is longer than any marathon, trek or expedition you can do. It is going to be tough for everyone, and the suffering will last for far longer than any analogy you can come up with. A 42km marathon is nothing compared to your life's work.
Ask me how I know, I spent years of my life where I've spent weeks trekking through the jungle for hundreds of kilometres, deprived of food, water and sleep.
Yet the pain of difficulty of building a team and business demands far more endurance than that.
Smile and have a good time anyway.
zones of thought have always been real
better thoughts were thought at ias, los alamos and are now thought in the labs.
this doesn't change that there have been great individual thinkers but information asymmetry compounds faster in groups than it does in individuals
they will be needing strange financial instruments for interstellar banks.
shorting earth747's economy from a earth69 would be hard.
would love if stripe survives long enough for that
educational reforms have been slow and the best have gotten better faster than the normal guy
a top putham guy of today or even terence tao and wiles are way more rigorous than the top math guys of 300 years ago, 400 years ago.
