The four biggest AI developers in the country are suddenly lining up to beg Washington to "slow down" AI development for the sake of "safety." Now, on the surface, this sounds good. Restrain AI before it kills us all. Everyone can get behind that.

But here’s the thing... If these tech CEOs genuinely believe that what they are growing in their labs is becoming a danger to humanity, STOP BUILDING IT! Don't beg the government. Do it yourselves. You are the frontier! Nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to deploy it. You don’t need an act of Congress to have a conscience.

I have a feeling that the real goal of these companies is to get a legal antitrust hall pass. That way, when their untamed AI system inevitably breaks something or takes down critical infrastructure, they can hide behind Washington and say, "Hey, don't look at us, the government approved it!"

Yes, the danger is real. Both sides are now saying this. But it seems like this "warning" isn't about saving humanity from the machines. It’s about Big Tech using the power of the federal government to crush small competitors and secure a complete monopoly over the future. Do not fall for the virtue signaling.
