If the Constitution requires the presidential election to be held in August 2026, then President William Ruto's mandate is constitutionally constrained by that electoral timetable. A president approaching the constitutionally prescribed election period should exercise restraint and avoid decisions that irreversibly bind future administrations or fundamentally alter the country's long-term legal, fiscal, or institutional landscape.
The office of the President is a constitutional trust, not an unlimited licence to govern without temporal limits. Where the constitutional duration of a presidential mandate is the subject of judicial determination, prudence dictates that the exercise of executive power be tempered by constitutional restraint and respect for the sovereign will of the people.
There’s a reason they won’t push this as Grand Coalition, because they know very well this is the kind of coalition that has the potential to serve Kenyans, not their interests.
A Maraga, Omtatah and Sifuna led government has the potential to right so many wrongs in this country. That is exactly why the conversation will quickly shift to who can bring votes, who has numbers and who is “electable”, not because they care about Kenya but because they need politicians they can control and who will protect the very system that has looted this country for decades.
This idea that we need Person A, B or C because they will “bring votes” needs to end.
Go out there and campaign for the candidate you believe in, talk to your family, talk to your cousins, talk to your grandparents, form groups, have conversations, convince people… this is how democracies are won.
No one has a monopoly on votes in this country. As someone once said, THE VOTER IS THE KINGMAKER!!
Why are we waiting for the same political class that helped ruin this country to tell us which direction Kenya should take? Until we understand that the opposition is not a group of wealthy politicians fighting each other but you, the people, demanding better leadership, we will keep surrendering our power to those who have never had our interests at heart.
WANTAM!!
Controller of Budget Dr. Margaret Nyakang'o did not hold back when revealing how the Treasury requisitioned 14.74 against a budgeted 10 on IMF on-lent loans—a staggering 147% rate that breaks basic budgeting principles.
As Safina Party’s Jimi Wanjigi has consistently argued, Kenya’s debt crisis isn't just about how much we owe, but the murky, reckless, and unchecked spending happening behind closed doors.
You cannot spend more than the total you owe! We need economic sanity, debt transparency, and leaders who actually understand the numbers.

FELLOW KENYANS, THE CONSTITUTION IS UNDER SIEGE! 🇰🇪
Our Constitution was designed with one clear principle. No single political office should have unchecked control over public money. That is why it separates political leadership from the management of the country’s finances.
Article 225(1) establishes the National Treasury as the constitutional custodian of public finances. Its role is too important to be left to politics alone.
Yet Section 11 of the Public Finance Management Act places the National Treasury under the National Executive and under the authority of a political Cabinet Secretary.
This is not a small legal issue. It goes to the heart of constitutional governance.
Parliament has the power to make laws that implement the Constitution. It does not have the power to change the Constitution through an ordinary Act of Parliament.
When the independence of public financial management is weakened, the checks that protect taxpayers’ money are weakened too.
The Constitution must remain above politics. Every law passed by Parliament must respect it.
If we fail to defend Chapter Twelve today, we risk eroding one of the most important safeguards for accountability and responsible use of public resources.
The Constitution belongs to all of us. Defending it is a duty we all share.
One moment from Ol Kalou has stayed with me.
A police officer quietly told us that the officers brought in from Nairobi, together with the goons accompanying them, were going to create a situation that would become impossible to control.
He looked frustrated and said, "Sasa hawa watu wanaleta shida na wakubwa wanaangalia."
Those words were painful because they sounded like a cry from someone trapped inside a system he could no longer influence.
If that moment reflected what was happening, it is a reminder that not every police officer supports disorder or political violence.
Many join the service to protect lives and uphold the law. But when operational decisions are driven from above, many officers feel they have little room to act independently.
Kenyans deserve a @NPSOfficial_KE service that is guided by the Constitution, professionalism, and accountability rather than political interests.
Public confidence in policing depends on the law being applied fairly to everyone, regardless of who is in power.
This is not possible under @WilliamsRuto and his bitter, ferocious & ruthless @kipmurkomen the CS for goons & violence.
The @InteriorKE ministry is officially a cartel operated organization.
Our democracy is strongest when security agencies protect citizens without fear or favour.
High taxes and endless debt are stalling our potential. It’s time for a clean break and a fresh start.
From free education and healthcare to slashing VAT to 5%, this is the Fist Agenda.

@otienowill A proper strategic thinking is needed to elevate this above the noise. I don’t have answers….but I fail to understand why this is not on everyone’s lips. This is a no brainer path for Kenya.
A new economic direction for Kenya is possible and necessary.
Agenda One: No Payment of Odious Debt
Frees up KSh 1.6 trillion annually money that belongs to the people, not corrupt deals made in secrecy.
Agenda Two: Free Healthcare
KSh 170 billion to guarantee dignity, save lives, and end the cruel reality of Kenyans dying due to lack of care.
Agenda Three: Free Education
KSh 270 billion invested in human capital because a nation that educates its people secures its future.
Agenda Four: 5% Sales Tax
Lower taxes, higher disposable income, more spending power for households and small businesses.
Agenda Five: No Domestic Borrowing
Stop crowding out citizens and businesses, the private sector breathe, invest, and create jobs.
This is the Safina vision: People over debt. Dignity over exploitation.
Agenda One ; non-payment of odious debt , I can frame it as a legitimate exercise of fiscal sovereignty, grounded in the principle that citizens should not be compelled to service liabilities incurred without their consent or that failed to deliver public value. By suspending payments on such debt, the government would immediately unlock substantial fiscal space estimated at KSh 1.6 trillion allowing for a decisive reallocation of resources toward critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. From a welfare economics perspective, this shift enhances allocative efficiency by redirecting funds from unproductive debt servicing to high-impact social investments with strong multiplier effects. Moreover, reducing the debt burden alleviates pressure on taxation and domestic borrowing, potentially lowering interest rates and stimulating private sector activity.
Juja has a turn out of over 1000 (close to 2k)
IEBC has registered 1000+ new voters but the KIEMS KITS have malfunctioned (network issues).
Voters are now forced to go back home without registering.
The forms are also over.
There are only 4 IEBC officials in the office.
IEBC, are you ready to register people.
For those still asking what Safina is, let me simplify it in terms even the skeptics can grasp.
Safina as embodied by the Safina Party is not just another political outfit orbiting around elections and empty rhetoric. It is a proposition for survival in a system that is increasingly collapsing under the weight of mismanagement and economic distress.
Think of it the way the Bible presents Noah and the Ark not as mythology, but as a metaphor for rescue in a moment of systemic failure. When the floods came, they did not negotiate, they did not discriminate; they overwhelmed everything that was unprepared. What saved people was not denial, not politics, but a vessel built with foresight, structure, and purpose.
