Pulled out @DarleneZschech's Platinum Collection (2000) and was reminded anew of the radical shift in default-setting cwm where tempo is concerned. While we once had, perhaps, an excess of what scoffers called "happy-clappy" tunes, we could stand to shift the pendulum back a bit.
Always blessed by the @JudsonU chapel ministry! Thanks, @Chris_Lash, Branden Benskin, tech folks, and ministry team for kicking off this TGIF 1st-week ending chapel, and thanks in advance for leading us so well this semester.
Thanks, @DavidAFrench, 4 your always helpful words. We sang "They'll Know We R Christians by Our Love" in r faculty workshop @JudsonU last week. Micah's exhortations & Tertullian's observations remain vital.

From The Valley of Vision: "Thou art preparing joy for me and me for joy." Might we all, but especially believers, much more regularly anticipate being saturated with supernaturally supplied joy.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Good to be led in worship this a.m. by @aaron_andries@bringrenewal church. Blest by the pastoral prayer at the end of the set (PK acorn doesn't fall far from the oak) and the mix of songs and styles. #ProudProf
From "After Prayer" (The Valley of Vision):
"O God of grace, I bewail my cold, listless, heartless prayers; their poverty adds sin to sin. If my hope were in them I should be undone. But the worth of Jesus perfumes my feeble breathings and wins their acceptance." Thank God!
@newworshipleadr As is probably apparent, I'm not on Twitter much these days. I have minimal energy to sift thru all the screaming to get to the life-giving content, unfortunately. Didn't mean to ghost you here. Alumni choir concert at Homecoming this year, btw. Spread the word! Much love, Dan.
"O help me set an upright example that will ever rebuke vice, allure to goodness, and evidence that lovely are the ways of Christ" (Valley of Vision, "Evening Renewal").
Wonderfully eclectic junior recital Philip Sasso is giving us this evening at @JudsonU's @dcwpa! Thanks to pals Ezequiel Navarro, Trey Lehman, and Giovanni Napolitano for contributing!
"Every new duty calls for more grace than I now possess, but not more than is found in thee, the divine Treasury in whom all fullness dwells" (The Valley of Vision).
